Oki Business Digital
Web Development and Interactive Advertising

Oki Business Digital — now Crestec Digital Inc.— was the North American subsidiary of Oki Electric Japan. Oki is a multinational corporation — a global super brand — with a multitude of corporate and product sub-brands. It is best known in North America for Oki Data and Oki Semiconductor.

The original mission was to support Oki Companies only but that mission was soon expanded. OBD became one of the earliest, premiere Web developers in the area — providing comprehensive design and development services for Web sites, Intranets and Extranets for many large corporations. They also offered collateral print design and print purchasing to our clients.

My Role
Developed brand migration strategies for client’s Business-to-Business and Business-to-Consumer, cross-media marketing communications applications. Helped clients prepare development strategies for all Internet related efforts, including Web sites, Intranets and Extranets for employee, client and distribution channel support. Directed content development including overall site architecture, user interface, copy development, brand consideration and graphic design. Evaluated and implemented emerging technologies for the web, disk-based multimedia, and pre-press production for Oki and other global super brands and their respective sub brands.

Worked closely with programmers to develop a robust content management tool. This tool automated the production of html as well as tagged the files for easy import into page layout programs — such as QuarkXpress and Pagemaker.

Developed asset management systems for use by our clients and their customers in their marketing efforts.
